Cinemas Closed All over U.K. It’s with great sadness that we are getting in touch to let you know that all Cineworld cinemas across the UK and Ireland will be temporarily closed from Friday (October 9) until further notice. This is not a decision we made lightly. We did everything in our power to support safe and sustainable re-openings of our cinemas and we are so very grateful for our employees who implemented the new protocols which resulted in lots of positive feedback f...rom customers who visited our cinemas and felt safe. We were very proud of the fact that cinemas were open for 2 months and there was not one COVID case resulting from visiting the cinema. We cannot underscore enough how difficult this decision was. As we have done to date, we will do everything we can to save livelihoods and the company this is an extremely delicate and tricky balance. We continue to work with the Cinema Association, to ensure we are lobbying government to support our employees and the industry which has so much cultural significance. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will communicate our plans to resume operations once film studios are able to bring their pipeline of major movie releases back to the big screen. We can assure you that once a line-up of movie releases is confirmed, we will be ready to re-open our cinemas, as we did in July, with the same safety levels you have already seen while at the same time keeping the great experience that you are used to getting from us. A big thank you goes to you, our movie-loving customers; your health and wellbeing has always been our priority during this difficult time and we look forward to welcoming you back as soon as possible to enjoy a full slate of films. As our cinemas close, online account management on your My Cineworld account will be temporarily disabled for security purposes from Friday (9 October). This service will be available again when our cinemas reopen. We’ll email you when we’re up and running again and will extend any My Cineworld Plus accounts retrospectively for time we were closed. If you have any questions, please take a look at our Frequently Asked Questions here. We will continue to keep in touch via email about the status of out cinemas, and you can receive updates on the Cineworld mobile app, online at cineworld.com and our national social channels on Twitter and Facebook, as well as via your local Cineworld’s Facebook page. We sincerely wish good health for you and your families during these uncertain times. The Cineworld Team

A MESSAGE FROM THE BRITISH EMBASSY IN PORTUGAL REGARDING THE NEW BIOMETRIC RESIDENCY CARD 02 October 2020 Now that we are getting closer to the end of the Brexit transition period, we are re-focusing on encouraging UK nationals to register for residency before the end of the year. We are working closely with SEF on this, and we will launch a joint campaign very soon. We will send more information about the campaign later on.... We understand that many UK nationals here are asking about the need to exchange their current documents eventually. We now know that the process for exchanging current residence documents to the Withdrawal Agreement residence documents will open towards the end of the year. UK residents in Portugal will be asked to complete an online pre-registration form that will identify them, and their family members, as residents under the Withdrawal Agreement. This registration will be done on a dedicated platform. This will allow SEF to contact UK nationals after 1 January 2021, providing them with an appointment in order to collect biometric data for the new residency card. The new card can only be issued to those who are already registered for residency in Portugal. So if UK nationals are not yet registered as residents in Portugal, they will need to go to their Town Hall and register first before pre-registering online. Their current documents remain valid after the end of the transition period. Together with SEF, we will have a joint campaign providing information on what UK nationals need to do. We will let you know when we are about to launch this. Be assured that your documents will still be valid after the end of the transition period and that there will be information coming soon, on what you will need to do.
